Secured a dismissal of a multi-million dollar claim of professional negligence against an engineering firm related to the installation of solar panels on a public project.
Assisted a mid-Atlantic based florist group in overturning a $78,000 NJ Bulk Sales assessment the auditor proposed when the florist took over a retail space previously occupied by another florist.
Received a $62,000 penalty abatement in a § 6059F Foreign Gift Tax case where the client missed critical filing deadlines while overseas attending to his father who was undergoing life-saving surgery.
Secured a Closing Agreement with the State of New Jersey settling approximately $124,000 of Sales Tax liabilities for $40,000, or 32% of the original assessment.
Received a release of an IRS levy of a retirement account where approximately $1,500,000 of retirement assets were at stake.

Anthony Dembia is an Associate Attorney with Fazzio Law Offices in our Hoboken, NJ Office. Anthony focuses on business and transactional matters, corporate law, commercial litigation, tax structure, regulatory and compliance and handles contract review and negotiation for our business clients in a range of industries. Anthony is an asset to any business that needs advice and legal support on business deals and operational concerns.
Before joining Fazzio Law Offices, Anthony was a member of the Rutgers Law School Federal Tax Clinic in Newark, where he helped low-income taxpayers settle tax debts with the IRS by setting up installment agreements, submitting Offers-in-Compromise, and working with taxpayers to avoid collection actions like wage garnishments and bank levies.
Anthony also interned with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office where he assisted the Fraud and Financial Crimes Special Division with ongoing investigations. Anthony’s experience with financial investigations gives him an insider view of how the IRS and state agencies conduct financial investigations and gives him insight into business finance.
Anthony uses his regulatory knowledge to advise businesses on how structure and document transactions so as to avoid regulatory scrutiny, while achieving the most beneficial treatment from a tax and regulatory standpoint.

Anthony has always believed in serving the community. Before entering law school, Anthony served as a Lead EMT for the Morristown Ambulance Squad and volunteered at the Morristown Soup Kitchen. While attending high school and college, Anthony also competed in a number of athletic activities and extracurricular pursuits including wrestling, rugby, swimming and weight training.

Anthony completed his Juris Doctorate from Rutgers Law School-Newark in May of 2020. Anthony graduated from Rutgers University in May of 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and spent his 1L year at New York Law School.
Anthony is a licensed attorney in New Jersey and is pending admission to New York and Texas.
