COVID-19 Relief Law - Biden to Extend Student Loan Forbearance to 10/21
Comments (0)
President elect, Joe Biden, expected to ask the Department of Education to extend the nearly year long pause on student loan payments through September 30, 2021, delivering on the incoming administration's campaign promise to prioritize and begin addressing the nearly $1.6 trillion debt crisis.
The extension would continue the nearly one (1) year long pause on student loan interest payments, interest, and collections instituted under the former Trump administration. It is unclear whether Biden will make good on his promises for student loan forgiveness.
