Anthony Dembia is a Law Clerk with Fazzio Law Offices in our Hoboken, NJ Office. Anthony focuses on tax controversy matters, corporate law, and commercial litigation.
Currently, he assists the attorneys and paralegals with a wide range of case activities.
Before joining Fazzio Law Offices, Anthony was a member of the Rutgers Law School Federal Tax Clinic in Newark, where he helped low-income taxpayers settle tax debts with the IRS by setting up installment agreements, submitting Offers-in-Compromise, and working with taxpayers to avoid collection actions like wage garnishments and bank levies. In short, his role was to fast-track these cases for resolution while protecting taxpayers from overreaching and aggressive IRS collection practices.
Anthony also interned with the Morris County Prosecutor's Office where he assisted the Fraud and Financial Crimes Special Division with ongoing investigations. Anthony's experience with financial investigations gives him an insider view of how the IRS and state agencies conduct financial investigations and how they look at a taxpayer's tax returns and financial statements. This allows Anthony to issue spot problem areas and position our client's finances in the best light so that they can get all the relief to which they are entitled.
At Fazzio Law Offices, we believe that enthusiasm and expertise are fundamental to achieving positive outcomes, and we appreciate Anthony's can-do attitude toward even the most perplexing legal problems and his depth of knowledge, which we believe make him a valuable asset to any client faced with a legal issue.
Anthony has always believed in serving the community. Before entering law school, Anthony served as a Lead EMT for the Morristown Ambulance Squad and volunteered at the Morristown Soup Kitchen. While attending high school and college, Anthony also competed in a number of athletic activities and extracurricular pursuits including wrestling, rugby, swimming and weight training.
Anthony's experiences in competition and service match well with our values at Fazzio Law Offices, where we strive to do good while practicing our craft at the highest levels.
Anthony will complete his Juis Doctorate from Rutgers law School--Newark in a few months in May of 2020. Anthony graduated from Rutgers University in May of 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and spent his 1L year at New York Law School.
Anthony expects to sit for the Bar Examination and become a Licensed Attorney this summer and fall.
